6 private rooms · 12 guests · Full board · November–April
Six rooms, twelve guests and one of northern Patagonia’s iconic trout rivers just beyond the door.
A relaxed, full-board stay shaped by the river, the landscape and the freedom to spend each day differently.
At River House,
Patagonia begins at
the river’s edge.
River House sits at the edge of the Río Chimehuín, surrounded by water, open country and the mountains of northern Patagonia.
The river flows directly in front of the house, shaping the view and the rhythm of each day. Nearby, a quiet lagoon creates another landscape of its own—a place for birds, changing light and moments of stillness.
Beyond the water, trails lead into the surrounding hills and mountains. Guests can explore the land on horseback, follow its paths on foot or simply watch the landscape change from the house. Every outing offers a different perspective, from the riverbanks below to the open views found higher in the terrain.
The lodge belongs naturally to this setting. Built from wood and stone, it feels connected to the landscape rather than separate from it. Mornings begin beside the river, days unfold outdoors and evenings return to the warmth of the house.
At River House, the land is not only what surrounds the stay. It is part of every moment.
River House is an intimate luxury lodge designed to feel more like a private home than a hotel.
With only six private rooms, the atmosphere is warm, personal and unhurried. The bedrooms are comfortable and quiet, while the shared spaces are designed around the landscape and the time guests spend together.
There is room to read, talk, enjoy a drink, warm up by the fire, dry your waders, take a sauna or simply sit outside and watch the water pass.
Meals are generous and relaxed, prepared with seasonal produce, local ingredients and the traditions of Patagonia and Argentina. Breakfast before heading out, long lunches after a morning outside and dinner around the table with Argentine wines and stories from the day.
For families, groups of friends and private parties, River House can also be reserved in its entirety, offering exclusive use of the six rooms and the house for up to twelve guests.
Fly fishing is at the heart of River House.
The Río Chimehuín is known for its clear water, changing conditions and wild brown and rainbow trout. It is our home river, but only the beginning of the fishing available across northern Patagonia.
From River House, guests can explore the Malleo, Aluminé, Collón Curá and Limay rivers, as well as the lakes of the region. Each offers a different landscape, character and way of fishing.
Days can be arranged as float or wade fishing with experienced local guides. The plan remains flexible, adapting to the season, the conditions and the kind of day each guest wants to have.
The focus is not on counting hours or covering as much water as possible. It is on choosing the right place, taking the time to understand it and making each day on the water worth remembering.
Mountains, forests, lakes and open country, all within easy reach of the house.
River House is a base for discovering northern Patagonia at your own pace. Depending on the season, the weather and your interests, days can be active, exploratory or deliberately slow.
A morning can begin on horseback across open country or on a trail into the native forest. An afternoon can be spent on a kayak, on one of the region’s golf courses or back at the house, between the sauna and a long view of the river.
Every day is planned with the team according to the weather and the rhythm of each guest, and nothing has to be decided too far in advance.

A quiet place to recover after a day outdoors, or to spend a day without going anywhere at all.
The spa sits in its own building close to the lodge, with large windows and a wooden deck facing the open country of the Chimehuín valley.
Inside and out, it brings together everything needed to rest the body after long days on the water and the trails: a sauna, an outdoor hot tub, a gym and rooms for massage and yoga.
Sessions can be arranged throughout the stay, from a massage after a long day to a morning yoga class or a quiet hour in the sauna as the light changes over the valley.
Massages and some private sessions may carry an additional cost.
River House began with a simple idea: to share Patagonia as we have always experienced it.
Close to the river and the landscape. With good food, good people and enough time to enjoy both.
What began as a place for friends and fishermen became a small private lodge for guests from around the world looking for a different kind of Patagonia.
A place intimate enough to feel personal, relaxed enough to feel like home and wild enough to feel unmistakably Patagonian.
Today, River House remains guided by that same spirit: genuine hospitality, days shaped around each guest and a deep connection to the river.
River House is located near San Martín de los Andes and Junín de los Andes, in the heart of northern Patagonia.
The Río Chimehuín is at the centre of the experience, but beyond it are the Malleo, Aluminé, Collón Curá and Limay rivers, the great lakes of the region, Lanín National Park, forests, mountains and open country.
Despite the feeling of being surrounded by nature, River House is easily reached through Chapelco Airport. Direct flights from Buenos Aires take approximately two hours, followed by a drive of around twenty minutes to the lodge.
Private airport transfers can be arranged, allowing the journey to feel simple from the moment guests arrive in Patagonia.
